Understanding Europe: the case of gender+ equality policies

The European Union values diversity and inclusion; yet at the level of its member states, many examples of exclusion and polarisation can be found, whether the focus is on gender, ethnicity, religion or sexuality. The research project “Quality in Gender+ Equality Policies (QUING)” tackles these issues to provide the knowledge for inclusive gender+ equality policies. QUING is funded within the European Commission’s 6th Framework Programme and has a term of 54 months (2006-2011).

Advancing Gender+ Training

An international conference on gender+ training will be held at Complutense University, Madrid, on February 3-4, 2011.

Forthcoming

Several QUING papers constitute the bulk of a forthcoming volume on The Europeanisation of gender equality policies. A discursive-sociological approach, edited by Emanuela Lombardo & Maxime Forest.
